Transferred! To Guarambare!

Monday, March 17, 2014

I love hearing about all the people who are turning in their mission papers! It's so exciting! Oh, I am really, really sad... You didn't get any of the pictures I sent! There were a ton of them! I didn't bring my camara today so I can't send them again.

As for me... I went from Lambaré to Guarambare. I can't escape the ´ambare´, which is funny because it sounds like hambre, which means hunger and I am definitely hungry....! My companion eats air and chocolate and the members are very poor here so we don't eat with them. So basically... we don't eat! But today is Monday, and we went grocery shopping and I have better food than chocolate and I will live. Sorry for the complaint section.

It was really sad to leave Lambaré and Hermana Puma and Hermana McIntyre. I will miss the ward a ton! I arrived here Wednesday at 10 a.m. and I think I will be here a while. At this point, I actually want to only have three areas. Less goodbyes to give! We live in a little apartment above a house. There is lots of farmland and it is in the country. Some places remind me of home...lots of cows. It's great! The downside for now is that my Spanish is great.... my Guarani...... is about 10 to 15 words...!  I know how to tell them that God and Jesus love them.... AHHHHH! They need to teach Guarani in the MTC! We have a branch here... and we had a whopping 33 people in church on Sunday. The retention is horrible!!! They baptize every week, but then they never come back! It's bad! But I am on a mission to fix this part of the mission! (I'm just being goofy, I wanted to feel cheezy and clever....If your wondering...it didn't work, but I'm not going to delete it.)

I actually already knew my companion, she served in my Zone before. Her name is Hermana Valle, and she is from Bolivia. Her dad is the owner of the international brand of dairy products called Del Valle. Yep...She is chuchi....(Chuchi means rich). Filthy rich! She's already bought 3 outfits TODAY!!! She says that before our Zone Conference this Wednesday, she has to have her hair, nails, and toes done and that she can't go without a new pair of shoes as well...This will be interesting. I really do like her... I am just a little out of my league. But we work well together and she knows English and Spanish and a little Guarani, so she is helping me out a ton. Oh, and her fiance is at home preparing their wedding with her parents and she has ´special permission´ to go home early and get married if she wants.

On a different note, on our street there are tons of families and our landlord has a family too. They all have a least one child between the ages of 10 and 12 and they are our friends, haha! When I arrived at the end of my first day, they made me close my eyes and they had a surprise for me! They had all prepared a little food and gifts. One had a jar full of sand with a flower in it, another an old stuffed animal and another a weird clay strawberry. They are so cute! We teach them primary songs...!

Once again, I love you all and I miss you like crazy!
