New Companion... From Utah!

Monday, April 28, 2014

Hello Thacker Family, I am relieved not to be hearing about any more broken bones! Haha! My life has had a significant and sudden change for the better.... I HAVE A NEW COMPANION!!!!! WOOOOOH WHOOOOO! Life was getting pretty miserable. But anyway, Hermana Boley is from Alpine, Utah. Her family has lots of farm ground in southern Utah. She runs cows with her family and works like a beast. I am very content....haha! Dad, you will have a special love for her and her family, because as we were arranging an up-high trip, she told me I could only go with her family if I had a mule! Yes! I am finally in Paradise! She said her family takes a trip to Fox Lake every year, which she believes is above Vernal. From her description, I think it is one of the lakes above White Rocks and Neola, and I think I did woodpecker surveys there...but I'm not sure. Someone will have to give me the Mental Map.... Anyway, I packed Hermana Valle´s things Tuesday and she headed off for a place called Villa Elisa and I stayed here and welcomed Hermana Boley. You´ll have to find her mom on FB...Julie Dalton Boley or Julie Boley. Also, you will have to ask her (I am not trying to be greedy) about sending packages. My companion says that her mom always sends packages through some weird place, but it's about 25 bucks for a gigantic box and they get here in 10 days. I figure if someone wants to send something, it's worth looking into. Haha!

Speaking of sending things, I don't know if I ever mentioned or said thanks to Channa, Melissa or Emmalee for sending Christmas cards, but I loved them! Last week I also received the biggest envelope you could ever imagine (1.5*3 feet) in the mail...from.....guess who.....haha? Nothing dramatic, Dezarai. I loved it! It had a Happy Valentine´s Day card, so when I unfolded the card it was a good 3 ft. by 3ft.... A bit ridiculous and difficult to carry around, but it came right when I needed it! With lots of stickers of hearts and love quotes.... Not sure what I will do with them but they will definitely be put to good use!  Oh, and I found a card reader here...Miracle of Miracles...I hope it's not too late to cancel that order, but if not...All is well!

This week we had a District's version of stake conference in Yaguarón. I don't expect you to be able to say it, haha. We are the District Paraguarí....I also don't expect you to pronounce that!  I´ll teach you one of these days! It was an adventure. Here they rent a bus and it passes from church to church picking up the members. You guys might die to see the number of Paraguayans you can shove into a bus. It's something else! Right now, we also have luck. We have a good number of investigators that can be baptized and that are progressing. I really am loving it here. Oh, and this week I am finishing the BOM! We had a challenge from the Presidente to finish in 3 months.... I am only a week early, but I did it! It's so fun to be able to read the BOM in English and Spanish. They are both inspired and I understand different things from both of them. I really hope you guys are doing scripture study. Thanks for teaching me how important it is. I love you all! Miss you bunches! Loved the Pictures! Tell DaNelle congrats, Shea that I'm jealous, Mac to feel better, Dad to send me a letter (Por Favor!), Kinlee to be "DANG CAREFUL" and Mom, that she´s the best. OH! And you should look for a FB page of the missionary moms in my mission!!! HASTA LUEGO!
