July 7, 2014This week FLEW! I want it all to slow down a bit. After next week, I officially only have 5 changes left and I am not ready for that reality! This week we ate pig, head, ears and all, with a member family. (They're so crazy... the dad is the one that looks pakistani and climbs trees over our heads in the dark to scare the dickens out of us!) Lidia didn't come to church... and I'm going to beat her because now I probably won't be able to see her baptism. Rufino has started calling my companion his Princess and Babe....so we probably will leave him for the next set of missionaries or the Elders. I made something resembling beef stroganoff, without sour cream or cream of chicken soup...but it was great...I miss real food. Today is our District Activity, so we are going to play futbol. The Mexican elder in our group is making tacos and the one from El Salvador is making papusas and the Chilean elder is a master of pastries... so we are excited to see what he will bring. Oh, and I made a banana bread disaster... So we just left it home... tastes okay... but as Grandma Carrie says... "Presentation is everything!" Haha! Sounds like you all had a fun week. Miss you all. I think everything I have left to say I sent in my recording. I promise we are usually not so loud and crazy...it was just late at night when lots of funny things happen... Oh, that reminds me, Sunday I totally caught the Relief Society President grabbing handfuls of the already broken and leftover sacrament bread after church... that was a bit awkward for both of us...but also awfully funny. Life is much different here. Anyway, it looks like the computer isn't working, so I'll send my hilarious recording next week...along with some awkward baptism pictures! Love you!Hermana Boley and Hermana Thacker were first welcomed by a gate with their names painted on it. Only they spelled Hermana Thacker as Hna. Thaekr! (3rd line from the top.) Then these wonderful members treated them to a delicious home cooked meal!Hermana Boley and Hermana Thacker preparing the font for a baptism.
