Missionary Life is Good!

Monday, October 27, 2014

I want to see pictures of the mighty hunter! Glad to hear that I still have one sister that kills things, instead of themselves by running half marathons! Glad to hear about everything that's going on. I keep getting scared, because I keep finding things in talks, etc about how there has to be opposition in all things, and everytime I just think... Oh no... Life is really good right now. I haven't ever had to suffer anything too tramatic.... So I just keep waiting for something really hard to happen...... Let's all just keep praying! Anyway, my friend Hermana Mac went home.. She found out she has parasites and lime disease. Anyway, I was hoping you could answer this for me, everyone acts like its really obvious, but I have no clue and don't want to appear too uneducated.... What is Lime Disease?

Now for fun news!!! We finally got Mercedes and her family to go to church with us! We have been having FHE with them and a member family every Sunday and yesterday they finally went...and they liked it! We also had a surprise. There is a lady named Mary Magdalen, we have only taught her once and we asked her to come to church with us and she said, "hmmm, I guess." But everyone says that, then they hide. Anyway, I called her Sunday morning and she was like, "Oh yeah, I am almost ready, I'll just wait at the corner for you guys...!" It was awesome. I haven't had that many people go to church with me before in my mish! I am truely loving it about now. My comp is awesome. She is a hard worker and she has a way with the kids! Too cute for her own good though...Paraguayos are professing love right and left.

Yesterday we ate blended liver sandwiches.... I really enjoyed mine..... Last Monday, we went to the river and it was awesome. Argentina is so stinking close! The river barges are sooooo huge! It's seriously unimaginable! I will send pics next week!

This week I finished reading Jesus the Christ.... New favorite book! I have learned so much about the life of Chirst. You should all start reading. The beginning is a bit hard, but after that, it's just SOOOOO awesome!  This week in our weekly planning session, we had to go through and decide who we were keeping and who we were dropping because we just had way to many people to visit. We went from an unmanagable list of 33 and 30 more less actives to a much more managable 10 or so. It's so hard to do, but it is really cool to see how the spirit works and how the Lord prepares his kids. Also, this week we had interviews. Presidente Agazzani is awesome. I am so happy to have him as a pres for all of my mission. He just basically said to enjoy the time while I am important, because in a couple months I won't have a plaque and I won't be important... That hurt a bit, but We SI O SI are working hard!

As for other news... I eat lots of watermelon! And oh! haha! This week we were teaching this awesome lady and her son. At the end of the lesson, her mother in law comes up with the Bible screaming that she is going to set us straight... She said something to the effect that she was going to teach the difference between a sect and a religion, because mormons aren't a religion! You should have seen her face when I just pointed to my plaque and said, "Hi Hermana. I am Sister Thacker. We are missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" She was like..."Oh...you're not mormons?", and I just handed her a passalong card with the name of the church and she left...! So, use the full name of the church and you can avoid old women who just want to fight!

Anyways, I love you all!! See ya next week!
