Miracles and Blessings!

Monday, November 24, 2014

So, like I mentioned last week, we had been struggling a bit finding people that were going to progress. I told you about the prayer family from the streets. Anyway, last Monday night we had a lesson with them. IT WAS THE BEST LESSON 3 I HAVE EVER TAUGHT! It went so well. The spirit was so strong and they were so attentive and involved. The whole family was there. We challenged them to be baptized this Saturday, the 29th, but they didn't accept because the mom works all weekend at events as a server. Anyway, we went back Thursday and taught lesson one. It went so well! They are the cutest. We challenged them to be baptized Thanksgiving Day...and they accepted!!!! So Monica, Araceli, and Pablito will be getting baptized this week! They are so excited. We were focusing on the mom in our last lesson and invited her to be baptized when 10 year old Araceli just burst out and said "Iwannagebatizzzzz!" She said it super fast and I didn't understand, so I asked her to repeat and I realized she was only interrupting to make sure we knew that she wanted to be a part of it too! The cutest thing ever happened with them last night. Pablito is a bit afraid of the water and he asked me if I got baptized. So I showed him a picture and told him that I had been baptized exactly like he was going to get baptized....Then he had a lightbulb look and was like....."OH! That's why you are white!" I DIED LAUGHING! It was so funny. The mom, Monica, is such a hard worker. She brought her family to church yesterday after leaving at 4 Saturday, working all night, getting home after a two hour bus ride at 7am Sunday, then showing and taking her kids to church.... She slept a lot, but she will receive the blessings! They are each so special. Her two oldest daughters, who are already members, are 16 and 14. They don't remember a lot but are so sweet. They all stayed for 2 of the 3 hours at church yesterday before mom just gave out. The two YW were the ones I was worried about. I wasn't sure how nice the other YW would be, but they were so sad that they had to leave. They are seriously beautiful. We are going to have to verify how many boyfriends they each have. Monica is only 33, and her eyelashes are longer than my hair! I will send a pic of them next week.

Other than that Hermana Walker went home. She is the best. I miss her so much. It is so much better to live with four hermanas rather than two, sharing all the good, bad and miracles. I am already planning to go visit her.... Her dad is a fisherman. It's like "Deadliest Catch" in real life.... I will make sure that my finger doesn't get bit off though!

I love you all! See ya later!
